Littlest Pet Shop Special Edition 2008 Series Collectibles
There have been quite a few Littlest Pet Shop Special Edition Pets released in the last couple of years. We have been fortunate to be able to collect all of them. This page contains all information that we have to date about all released Littlest Pet Shop Limited Special Edition Pets in the year 2008 including which series they belong to as well as an accurate description of each individual pet. We will be doing another post with all of the 2009 Special Pets soon.
Littlest Pet Shop Assortment 'A' Series 1 Collectible Figure Pink Flamingo with Flamingo Toy & Hat #800
The first special edition pet that was released in September of 2008 was the Pink Flamingo whose number was 800. She/he is a member of the Funniest Pets which can be identified by the clover shaped pupil and is obviously pink with yellow eyes and pink legs. This particular pet has a type of fuzz all over the body (flocking) as it is sometimes referred to. This collectible pet flamingo #800 was extremely hard for us to find in the beginning so we resorted to having a friend in a foreign country locate it for us. Accessories included with this pet are as follows: Sunglasses, Plastic Flamingo Buddy and a Cool little hat to keep the Florida sun at bay.

Littlest Pet Shop Assortment 'A' Series 1 Collectible Figure Lion with Fire Ring & Crown #809
Around the same time as the release of the Flamingo the next to be released in the same month was the Funniest Lion number 809. This little king of the jungle has a tan body with a brown fuzzy mane along his neckline, and he has blue eyes which also bear the pupils of the funniest series of pets (diamond). As collectible pets go this one was quite difficult to locate also, although we did eventually run across this littlest pet shop special edition pet at Wal-Mart. Accessories included with this pet are as follows: A ring of fire as well as a kings crown to adorn his head and solidify his "King of the Jungle" status

Littlest Pet Shop Assortment 'A' Series 2 Collectible Figure Beaver & Tent #810
The third to be released in 2008 was the Special Edition Beaver # 810 This little beaver has a brown body with blue eyes that bear the distinction of being a member of the Sportiest Pets with the apostrophe in his/her eyes. Also this one sports tan hair and has a fuzzy (flocked) body. This collectible pet was not as hard to locate as some of the others have been so we do have an extra or two of this particular LPS pet for sale. Littlest Pet Shop Assortment 'A' Series 2 Collectible Figure Meerkat with Tree Trunk #819
The Special Edition Meerkat was the next to be released in 2008 who is # 819. This little brown haired Meerkat with green eyes and a flocked (fuzzy) body is a member of the Happiest Pets which can be distinguished by the Starburst for pupils. Littlest Pet Shop Special Edition Pet Happiest #819 Portable Collectible Figure Gift Set is fairly hard to find and will surely make an awesome addition to any LPS collection. The Special Edition Meerkat comes with the following accessories: Binoculars, tree stump with flower and a cool little hat.

Littlest Pet Shop Assortment 'B' Series 1 Collectible Bat on Vine #820
The next Special Pet released in 2008 was the Bat #820 he comes with a small tree like shaped accessory for him to hang on upside down. His body is tan and fuzzy his eyes are blue and adorned with the characteristic starburst in his eyes meaning he is a member of the Happiest Pets series.. He was initially hard to find but later there seem to have been many more available we managed to find this particular special bat at Wal-Mart.

Littlest Pet Shop Assortment 'B' Series 2 Collectible Mop Dog with Mud Pad #830
The first special edition dog that was released was the Komondor (AKA Mop Dog) he was released also in late 2008. His number is #830 and is a member of the Messiest Pet Series and has what appears to be either a splat of mess or bird poo for his pupils. The Collectible Pets Komondor (Mop Dog) has pink fur and sports only one eye that is visible and it is blue. Accessories included are a mud pad, hairbrush and hat.

Littlest Pet Shop Assortment 'B' Series 2 Collectible Love Bugs #838, #839
The next two Special Edition Collectible Pets to be released are basically the exact same pet with different colors. They were released as a two pack and dubbed as "pet pairs", the first is Special Edition Love bug #838 which is aqua and has green eyes. The second in the package is Love bug #839 and this little one is pink with blue eyes. The pet pair set comes with a see-saw for an accessory. These were the last of the Collectible Pets released in 2008.
